Tomie's Wood Self Guided Loop Walk for Families 

Tomies Wood is a self-guided loop walk through some of the most beautiful ancient oakwoods in Ireland, along the slopes of Tomies Mountain that runs along the shore of Loch Léin.

It provides stunning views over Loch Léin and the Killarney Valley and a detour to the famous O' Sullivans cascades is a must.  If swimming is on  your bucket list, you may find some stunning secluded swimming spots during this hike!!  Explore and discover 

Safety, Clothing & Food

• This hike is a relatively easy 6-7km in total, suitable for adults and children over 8.   
• Some terrain is rough, so walking shoes or boots are advisable.  The loop is not buggy-friendly.
• Rain gear and hats are always useful to carry as weather can be unpredictable.
• The walking trail can be wet and slippery after heavy rainfall, so caution is advised
• Always good to bring water, food and snacks...... and sunscreen!
