Sacred Paint and Sip

Anam Arts and Cultural Centre - Killarney, Co. Kerry, V93 D628, Ireland

A combined workshop exploring the theme of Spring Awakening through Cacao and Art Therapy.

This workshop will help us to anchor our nervous systems and bodies insafety while opening our hearts to connection.

You will be guided through agrounding meditation, cacao ceremony and art therapy exploration. There will be an opportunity to share your insights in a closing circle. Ceremonial cacao is a gentle plant medicine that helps us to open our heart. It is full of calcium, iron, magnesium, and rich in antioxidants that support the body.

By increasing our blood flow, blood floods the tissues and organs with fresh oxygen. On a spiritual level, this helps us to align with our natural essence, which is love. The theme will be explored through creative expression using art therapy. No artistic skill or experience is required.

Considerations. Please avoid alcohol and caffeine for at least 6 hours before the ceremony. Please avoid coming to the ceremony with a full stomach. If possible, have a light meal 2 hours beforehand.

This is so our body is not working hard to digest food during the ceremony.

It is recommended to eat as cleanly as possible on the day of the ceremony. A clean vessel will help our body absorb as many benefits as possible from the cacao. Please note: It is not advised to drink ceremonial levels of cacao (2+ounces) during the first trimester of pregnancy.

It is not advised to drink ceremonial levels of cacao (2+ ounces) if you are currently on antidepressants or medication that alters natural brain chemistry.

If any of these considerations apply to you, let us know and we can adjust the dosage to suit your body and your needs at this time.

Sacred Paint and Sip is a workshop combining ceremonial cacao and art therapy. This circle takes place during the energy of the New Moon in Aries. The New Moon represents the beginning of the lunar cycle, a time to receive guidance and clarity and set intentions. Ceremonial cacao is a gentle plant medicine that helps us to open our heart. It is full of calcium, iron, magnesium, and rich in antioxidants that support the body. By increasing blood flow from the heart, fresh blood floods the tissues and organs with oxygen. On a spiritual level, this helps us to align with our natural essence, and open our hearts to love. Art Therapy is the discipline of using creativity to connect to, and express our inner world. This is a safe and non-judgemental space for you to explore your intuitive, creative self. No artistic skill or experience is required. Shelly is a fully accredited, IACAT-registered art therapist.
