We aim to provide a holistic, rejuvenating and calm environment, encouraging people to realign and balance their energies.
Our day retreats incorporate meditation, breathwork, yoga and body movement whilst also providing healthy, nutritious food. Our clients will be immersed into the true essence of Mother Nature during a dip in the nearby lake and warm their souls in our lakeside sauna before returning to our hot tub surrounded by the most breathtaking views.
Meet our Team: Karen Buckley is the heart and soul behind Loughdale Cottage Retreat, a sanctuary designed to nurture rest, connection, and renewal. As a devoted wife, mom to three energetic boys, and a compassionate nurse, Karen brings her unique blend of warmth, energy, and resilience to every aspect of the retreat experience. Her passion for creating a peaceful haven stems from her deep understanding of the importance of balance and self-care in a busy life.
At Loughdale Cottage, Karen invites guests to recharge and reconnect, offering a space where wellness, family values, and a nurturing spirit come together seamlessly.
Alister Burkitt, our in house chef is a culinary artist who combines passion, creativity, and skill to craft an unforgettable dining experience. Ballymaloe trained, Al is currently the pastry chef at Luna, Killarney.
Here at Loughdale Al blends flavours and techniques to create dishes that are as visually stunning as they are delicious.
Sinead Buckley is a dedicated meditation practitioner passionate about helping others find balance, clarity, and inner peace.
With years of experience exploring mindfulness techniques and meditation practices, Sinead creates a safe and supportive space for individuals to reconnect with themselves.
Sinead is a compassionate psychotherapist with a unique background as a registered nurse. With years of experience in healthcare, Sinead deeply understands the connection between physical and emotional wellbeing.
Keith Bradley, founder of Atlantic Breath, is a certified breathwork teacher trained throughthe Journey the Breath Facilitator Training with Pad Divilly and accredited by the International Breathwork Foundation and International Holistic Practitioners. With over 20 years of experience as a teacher and 14 years as a principal, Keith has a deep understanding of the challenges of managing high stress loads and busy schedules. His journey with breathwork has transformed his life and approach to personal wellbeing,personal balance, and inspiring him to share these practices with others.
Helen Pierce is a passionate yoga instructor dedicated to helping others cultivate strength, flexibility, and mindfulness through the transformative practice of yoga.
With a focus on creating inclusive and welcoming spaces, Helen tailors her practices to suit all levels, empowering our guests to connect with their bodies and minds.
She aims to blend breath work, movement and meditation.Prepare to stretch and flex your body in the most beautiful way, learning to love and respect the vessels you are in. Having spent the last 20 years teaching science ,Helen’s background is firmly rooted in teaching. In the most recent years she has completed an MSc in Guidance Counselling Helen travelled to Rishikesh , India for Yoga Teacher Training , an intense but wonderful experience.She has now furthered her studies in Yin Yoga & Nidra.

Old runners/crocs are great to wear into the lake to add comfort or bring swim booties.
Fluufy socks and warm spare clothes are amazing for post lake dip.

10am - Arrival & Welcome Drink with Breakfast.
10.30am - Self Care talk and Meditation with Sinead.
12.30pm - Breathwork with Keith.
2pm - Lake Dip and Sauna experience followed by relaxation in our outdoor Hot tub.
3.30pm - Yoga with Helen.
4.30pm - Dinner with Alister.
