Killarney's Wild Hidden Valley hike: The Horses Glen

Coolroe West, KY, Ireland

The mountains that surround Killarney are home to the most famous peaks in ireland, but if you stray away from the big names, you can find lesser travelled valleys where exceptional true wilderness is waiting to take your breath away. On this challenging hike, Killian Buckley, a killarney local who has climbed some of the world’s hardest routes and guided clients everywhere from Nepal to Norway and throughout the Alps, where he now lives is coming home to the mountains that made him. He hopes to share his experience while hiking in one of his favourite killarney hidden gem hikes and hopefully show you that sometimes the most beautiful wild spaces are off the beaten track.

You will need to have a good level of mountain fitness for this hike. Elements of this hike will be across wild terrain without a well beaten path so participants should be stable on their feet and have appropriate footwear (quality hiking boots or trail shoes).

The hike will be approximately 12km with an expected elevation gain of 800m. Most importantly be prepared for a great adventure.
